One of the things that is important to keep in mind is that when we sweat, our body excretes toxins. This is one of the many ways that it helps protect itself and rid itself of unwanted / un-needed things. When we sweat, there should be very little smell, if we are healthy. Those of us that have very bad body odor - under arms, body, or feet, need to take a closer look at diet, exercise, and overall health. Your body is telling you something with that foul smell.
We also need to understand what important body parts lie below the surface of the armpit. You have very important lymph nodes that reside all over your body - and one set is below the surface under your arm. Wikipedia has a good diagram of all your lymph nodes and their roles: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lymph_node
Several years ago, the rage was that deodorant of any kind was terrible for you and that it caused tumors. I have always been told to get a deodorant but NOT an antiperspirant. Since your skin needs to breathe and sweating draws out the toxins, this makes total sense.
Since I am getting on a plane shortly... and we have discussed reading your labels and going out and researching your labels... I am going to instead, give you several links to review... and let you do the research. There are dangers - and you need to be aware.
